Have you ever wished that you did not have to type the ‘.com’ or the ‘.org’ in a URL? Did you wish the phone would add that automatically? Well, it does something very close. In many cases, when you touch a key on the keyboard and hold it, it will show more characters or other things.
In the picture above you can see what the ‘O’ key reveals when you touch and hold it. To select one of the special O’s, just slide your finger to the appropriate letter new part of the keyboard. Remember to not lift your finger. When you lift your finger the last letter the finger was on will be chosen.
Special .com, .net, etc.
When you are typing a URL, you will notice that the ‘.com’ is a key on the standard keyboard. If you hold down the ‘.com’ you will get .com, .org etc.
When you are typing an email address, you will notice that the ‘.’ is on the standard keyboard. If you hold down the ‘.’ you will get .com, .org etc.
If you just want to type a single numeric digit, you can touch the ‘123’ key and slide your finger to the number you want.
You can tap the space bar twice to enter a period followed by a space. This is especially useful at the end of a sentence. Just tap space twice.
I demonstrate all this and more in the video below.
